When setting up your new device, Apple has made things really simple with Quick Start.

With Quick Start, you can set up your new device using the information on your current device — and it’s very simple. Just turn on your new device and place is near your current device. A screen will appear on your current device that will take you through prompts to set up your new device.

Even if you choose to use Quick Start, I still recommend that you back up your data before getting rid of your old device. I also recommend using File Sharing or the Backup option to copy the myArmsCache databases to your computer, just in case you run into any issues.
